舊型的住宅用太陽能系統會透過逆變器連結到公用事業的電網,在白天時將來自太陽能面板的電力轉換為AC電力,可販賣的多餘電力則再賣回給公用事業公司。但到了夜晚,終端使用者則要靠公用事業的電力供應。公用事業公司意識到這些限制,並相應地調整了其定價模型。住宅客戶根據「使用時間」費率付費,沒有太陽能時費率會更高。
此時便是電錶後方的ESS派上用場之時,透過太陽能面板收集的電力能為電池充電,將能量儲存起來。這些電池搭配逆變器使用時,可以隨時滿足AC電源的需求。
Structure of Energy Storage Systems
Energy Storage Systems are structured in two main parts. The power conversion system (PCS) handles AC/DC and DC/AC conversion, with energy flowing into the batteries to charge them or being converted from the battery storage into AC power and fed into the grid. Suitable power device solutions depend on the voltages supported and the power flowing.
The battery management system (BMS) manages cell charging, balancing, and health monitoring. The BMS is complemented by a microcontroller that supplies system control and communication. These are essential elements to integrate ESS into larger systems.
