Mouser Electronics Now Stocking Silicon Labs' Next-Generation Z-Wave 700 SiP Module for Smart Home Application

August 19, 2019 - Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the ZGM130S Z-Wave^® 700 system-in-package (SiP) module from Silicon Labs. Built on Silicon Labs' low-power Wireless Gecko platform, the next-generation Z-Wave 700 device enables rapid development of energy-efficient, long-range interoperable Z-Wave mesh network solutions for smart home Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including hubs, security, lighting, sensors, door locks, and HVAC. The Z-Wave 700 includes key smart home features including SmartStart for turn-key device commissioning and market-leading Z-Wave S2 security.

The Silicon Labs ZGM130S Z-Wave 700 SiP module, available from Mouser Electronics, incorporates a 32-bit Arm^® Cortex^®-M4 core with 512 Kbytes of flash (64 Kbytes of application flash memory), native security stack, and highly integrated Sub-GHz transceiver plus crystal, decoupling, and matching to provide a complete Z-Wave solution that requires only an external antenna. Built with low-power Gecko technology, which includes innovative low energy techniques, fast wake-up times, and energy saving modes, the ZGM130S reduces overall power consumption and maximizes battery life — offering up to 10 years on a single coin-cell battery.

Mouser is also stocking the Z-Wave 700 Wireless Starter Kit, which includes two mainboards, two radio boards with onboard ZGM130S modules, and an EXP board with four buttons and four LEDs. The mainboard contains an on-board J-Link debugger with a Packet Trace Interface and a virtual COM port, enabling application development and debugging the attached radio board as well as external hardware. The mainboard also contains sensors and peripherals for engineers to easily demonstrate and evaluate the capabilities of the ZGM130S.
