Skyworks Solutions Inc. Si82Cx Isolated Gate Drivers

The Si82Cx is ideal for driving power silicon MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC FETs, and GaN FETs used in various switched power and motor control applications. These drivers utilize Skyworks' proprietary silicon isolation technology, supporting up to 6kV_RMS for 1-minute isolation voltage. This technology enables high CMTI (200kV/µs), lower propagation delays and skew, slight variation with temperature and age, and tight part-to-part matching. The Si82CXx family offers longer service life and higher reliability than optocoupled gate drivers.

The output stage features Selectable Variable Current Drive (SelVCD™) technology that adjusts output current between eight selectable levels, eliminating the need for gate resistors and clamping any Miller effect currents. SelVCD operates as a current source that maintains current output within a tight tolerance of the target across all operating conditions. The driver family also offers Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO) and defined output states in all operating conditions.

The Skyworks Solutions Inc. Si82Cx is available in an automotive grade. The gate drivers are built using automotive-specific flows at all manufacturing steps to confirm the robustness and low defectivity needed for automotive applications.
