Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV2790 Evaluation Board

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV2790 Evaluation Board demonstrates the features of the MP2790, a battery management device designed for multi-cell series battery systems. The Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP2790 provides an analog front-end (AFE) solution for monitoring/protection and supports I2C communication.

The device works with 4-cell to 10-cell battery packs, with an absolute voltage over 80V on certain pins. The MP2790 includes two analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). One measures differential cell voltage (up to ten channels), die temperature, and four external temperatures via NTC thermistors, while the second measures charge and discharge current using an external current-sense resistor. This dual ADC setup allows for synchronized voltage and current measurements for cell and pack impedance monitoring.
