Microchip Technology MCP8025/6 3-Phase BLDC Motor Gate Drivers
Microchip Technology MCP8025/6 3-Phase BLDC Motor Gate Drivers provide a complete motor control and drive solution for many automotive and industrial applications. The MCP8025/6 drivers offer 3-phase Brushless DC (BLDC) power modules with three integrated half-bridge drivers capable of driving three external NMOS/NMOS transistor pairs. These three half-bridge drivers deliver a peak output current of 0.5A at 12V to power high-side and low-side NMOS MOSFET transistors. The MCP8025/6 drivers offer shoot-through, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection. These gate drivers feature 150ºC ambient temperature, low sleep current of 5µA (typ), and LIN transceiver. The MCP8025/6 drivers are well-suited for under the hood automotive designs and applications that need to reduce key-off power consumption.Microchip Technology MCP8025 drivers are 3-Phase brushless motor gate drivers and power module that integrates key-off sleep mode, a LIN transceiver, and a buck voltage regulator. These gate drivers come with two LDO regulators, an over-temperature sensor, a zero-crossing detector, a neutral simulator, a comparator, and an operational amplifier. The phase comparator and multiplexer enable hardware commutation detection and the neutral simulator enables commutation detection without a neutral tap in the motor. The buck converter is capable of delivering 750mW of power for powering a companion microcontroller. The onboard 5V and 12V low dropout voltage regulators are capable of delivering 30mA of current.
Microchip Technology MCP8026 drivers are 3-Phase brushless gate drivers with power module and 5uA (typ) sleep-mode current. The MCP8026 drivers replace the LIN transceiver, neutral simulator, and zero-crossing detector in MCP8025 with two-level shifters and two additional op-amps. These gate drivers integrate three half-bridge drivers to drive external NMOS/NMOS transistor pairs. The MCP8026 drivers provide bias to a companion microcontroller, power monitoring comparators, an overtemperature sensor, two-level translators, and three operational amplifiers for motor current monitoring. These gate drivers employ three half-bridge drivers capable of delivering a peak output current of 0.5A at 12V for driving high-side and low-side NMOS MOSFET transistors. The MCP8026 drivers have shoot-through, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection and deliver 750mW of power for powering a companion microcontroller. The buck regulator may be disabled if not used. The onboard 5V and 12V low dropout voltage regulators are capable of delivering 30mA of current.
