Infineon Technologies BCR60x Hot Plug ICs
Infineon Technologies BCR60x Hot Plug ICs are linear LED controller ICs that regulate the LED current by means of an external driver transistor. These ICs support the use of NPN bipolar transistors and NMOS MOSFETs to cover a wide LED power and current range. The BCR601 IC uses an optocoupler to control the output voltage of the primary side converter and provide feedback to the primary side. The BCR60x ICs suppress the voltage ripple of the power supply driving a constant LED current for better light quality. The LED current is fully scalable by dimensioning an external current sense resistor.The BCR60x ICs feature hot plug protection to minimize LED inrush current, overtemperature protection, Rset functionality at pin MFIO, and ±3% LED current precision. The overtemperature protection will dim the LED current if the BCR60x ICs' junction temperature threshold is
exceeded. This results in the LED current being reduced to 30% of the nominal current. The BCR601 ICs are ideal for LED drivers whereas the BCR602 ICs are ideal for LED light engines/modules and LED replacement lamps.
