Analog Devices Inc. AD-DAC-FMC Adapter Board

Analog Devices AD-DAC-FMC Adapter Board is designed to bridge high-speed Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) evaluation boards with FPGA development platforms that use FMC (FPGA Mezzanine Card) connectors. This allows any of Analog Devices' DPG2-compatible high-speed DAC evaluation boards to be used on a Xilinx evaluation board with an FMC connector. The adapter board uses the Low Pin Count (LPC) version of the FMC connector, so it can be used on either LPC or HPC hosts (such as the ML605 or SP605).

Features

  • FMC compatibility
    • Uses the Low Pin Count (LPC) version of the FMC connector
    • Compatible with both LPC and HPC FMC slots on Xilinx FPGA evaluation boards
  • High-speed DAC support
    • Designed to interface with DPG2-compatible high-speed DAC evaluation boards
    • Enables seamless integration of DAC boards with FPGA platforms for prototyping and evaluation
  • Clocking support
    • Provides two LVDS clocks to the host FPGA board
    • These clocks are identical in frequency and phase, ensuring synchronized data and clock signals
    • Ensures matched delays between data and clock paths inside the FPGA
  • Signal routing
    • Routes LVDS data and clock signals from the DAC board to the FMC connector
    • Includes detailed pin mappings for data and clock lines to ensure proper signal integrity and timing alignment
  • Mechanical and electrical interface
    • Connects via standard headers to the DAC evaluation board and via FMC to the FPGA board
    • Supports differential signaling for high-speed data transmission
  • Support
    • Comes with a Quick Start Guide, schematics, layouts, and User Constraint Files (UCF) for FPGA integration - Download (Zip)
    • Supported by Analog Devices’ EngineerZone community and documentation resources

Applications

  • Aerospace and defense systems
  • Signal generation
  • Communications
