Microchip Technology MCP48xx and MCP49xx Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) are 8- and 10-bit devices featuring an SPI communication interface as well as internal and external voltage reference options. The Microchip Technology MCP48xx DAC family has an internal voltage reference while the MCP49xx DAC family accepts an external voltage reference. Because these Microchip Technology devices offer both 8- and 10-bit resolution, designers can select the resolution needed for different applications. The integrated voltage reference reduces cost and space while the external pin provides further design flexibility.
