Microchip Technology LAN866x 10BASE-T1S Endpoint Devices utilize the Remote Control Protocol (RCP) to extend Ethernet connectivity for in-vehicle networks. These endpoints enhance centralized control of edge nodes for device management and data streaming, while the 10BASE-TIS multidrop technology supports an all-Ethernet zonal architecture. LAN866X devices are used as bridges that translate Ethernet packets to local interfaces for audio transmission, lighting control, and actuator or sensor management over the network. Node-specific software programming is eliminated by this design, simplifying system architecture and reducing hardware costs.
