Würth Elektronik REDCUBE PRESS-FIT Terminals are a reliable PCB technology with a very low Failure-In-Time value in a space-saving design. The FIT value is up to 30 times better than that of an SMD solder joint. With pressing the pins into the PCB, a homogeneous cold-welding between materials is generated due to high friction between the pin and plated through-hole. The homogeneous cold-welding results in a gastight, strong mechanical connection with contact resistance less than 200µΩ and transfers power up to 500A. The low-resistance connection offers low self-heating with no heat development on sensitive components and no thermal stress on the circuit board. Press-fit connections are predestined to provide strong mechanical and electrical connection solutions for electrical components.
