AD5593R Configurable ADC/DAC

Analog Devices Inc. AD5593R Configurable ADC/DACs with On-chip Reference, I²C Interface feature eight I/O pins that designers can independently configure as DAC outputs, ADC inputs, digital outputs, or digital inputs. When an I/O pin is configured as an analog output, the devices are driven by a 12-bit DAC. The output range of the DACs are 0V to VREF or 0V to 2 × VREF. When an I/O pin is configured as an analog input, the devices are connected to a 12-bit ADC via an analog multiplexer. The input range of the ADCs are 0V to VREF or 0V to 2 × VREF. Designers can also configure the I/O pins to be general purpose, digital input or output (GPIO) pins. By accessing the GPIO registers via an I²C write or read operation, the state of the GPIO pins can be set or read back.
